Spend 02 nights in Colombo.

Today you will venture out to the suburbs of Colombo towards Korathota where you will visit a traditional Angampora school. Angampora is the traditional martial art of Sri Lanka and dates back thousands of years. Master Ajantha the head of the school will introduce you to the martial art, its traditions, weapon as well as the healing and medicinal aspect of this art. The students will thereafter perform a demonstration using hand to hand and weapons used in this art along with traditional drums and instruments. The master will also teach you some meditation techniques and some basic methods of self-defense. You will be served a traditional vegetarian lunch along with drinking water bottles.

In the afternoon, The Colombo City Walk takes you through a myriad of buildings around the Pettah and Fort area that date back from 17th – 19th centuries which were erected mainly during the periods of Dutch and British rule. With the dawn of the post conflict times, we see the tremendous effort being put into this area to refurbish and bring these buildings to their hay-day wondrous state.
Checkout after an early breakfast and leave for the ancient city of Anuradhapura, where you will go on a guided tour. Anuradhapura was the country’s first capital comprising of religious places of worship and Buddhist shrines constructed by the past kings of Sri Lanka.

Afterwards, head towards Sigiriya, check-in to your hotel and spend
After breakfast, leave for Polonnaruwa and take a guided tour of this capital. Polonnaruwa took its place in history after King Vijayabahu I defeated the invading Cholas and moved the capital from Anuradhapura to Polonnaruwa. It is renowned for its well-preserved 12th century ruins and impressive stone culture.

In the afternoon, drive to the ancient rock fortress of Sigiriya and climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Visit the palace ruins of King Kassapa which was constructed on top of a massive 200 meter high rock surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, frescoes of half-naked women and other structures.
This morning, explore Ritigala, which is an ancient retreat of Buddhist monks, where the ruins of a 1st Century BC monastery lie hidden deep within the forest. Its height and the local weather patterns create a microclimate different from that of the surrounding plains, and Ritigala is home to a variety of rare species of plant and animal. During your excursion to Ritigala, you trek through the dry evergreen forest and pass through the remains of ancient stone bathing-pools, bridges and courtyards.

Afterwards, return to your hotel and spend the remainder of the evening at leisure.
Morning, leave for Kandy stopping en-route at the Dambulla Cave Temple, which is famous for its rock paintings and is among the best preserved monastic temple cave complexes in Sri Lanka.

Upon arrival in Kandy, check-in at your hotel.

In the late afternoon, go on a guided tour of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. The sacred tooth relic of the Buddha was smuggled in to Sri Lanka from India by a princess in the 4th century AD and was initially kept in Anuradhapura and then moved across the country over time before being housed in Kandy. This sacred temple attracts thousands of white-clad pilgrims on a daily basis bearing lotus blossoms and frangipani for their offerings which are known as pujas. Evening at leisure in the hotel.
