Coral Gardens – Hikkaduwa: The highlight are the red and orange coral which can be seen by swimming through caves and valleys which are abundant in tropical fish.

Kirala Gala – Hikkaduwa: Located about a mile off-shore and restricted strictly to very experienced divers as it is a 40 meter dive comprising of colourful corals and a diversity of fish including wrasse, Angelfish, Parrotfish and Trigger Fish.

Shipwrecks off Hikkaduwa: The Early of Shaftesbury, a 19th century sailing ship and the SS Consch, an oil tanker which sank in 1903 are the most popular ship-wreck dives off Hikkaduwa.

Canoe Rock – Bentota: Comprising of a diversity of colourful corals and reef fish, it is a large site that may require several dives to be explored in full. The site is accessible to both beginner and advanced divers alike.

Equipment rental, lessons and packaged deals are offered by certified dive operators in Bentota and Hikkaduwa, who work with most of the leading resorts in the area. There are a number of ship wrecks, underwater canyons and reefs which are abundant in vividly coloured corals and reef fish.
